    Rippetoe’s the real McCoy, a term only our (Rippetoe’s and mine) age group would understand. This book was something new for me, a guy who’d never lifted before. It’s a life changer, big time. After reading it cover to cover and gaining more confidence in his training thing versus my aerobic and cardio plods, I gave his a simple basic techniques a shot using only dusty dumbbells.
